The Achimota Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Joseph Kwame Assabil, has noted that a disloyal person is a dangerous person and that the Holy Spirit does not befriend such people.

Apostle Assabil, an Executive Council Member, said this when speaking at the February edition of the Area Officers’ School held at the Achimota Central auditorium on February 26, 2018.

The officers’ school is a monthly gathering of the clergy and the lay leaders of the Church in the Area. It aims at equipping lay leaders to be effective in their respective ministries.

Speaking on the theme, “Loyalty,” the Area Head urged believers to be loyal to God. Taking his scripture reading from 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, he said there is nothing more expected from a Christian leader than to be trustworthy in his or her calling.

According to him, God is not interested in factions, saying, “God’s concern is not about who is more anointed or who is great, but who is trustworthy.”

He said Christian leaders are nothing but the servants of God. He, therefore, exhorted all Christian leaders to serve with humility.

Apostle Assabil defined loyalty as a feeling of devotion or being faithful to someone, or giving someone one’s honest opinion whether he will like it or not.

He urged church leaders to eschew all kinds of disloyalty towards the leadership of the Church. “No church can reflect God’s glory when there is disloyalty within,” he stressed.

He charged church leaders to wholeheartedly implement policies issued by the leadership of the Church. “However, if you don’t understand anything you can ask for clarification rather than fighting against it,” he indicated.

He noted that people may become disloyal as a result of envy, character flaw or ignorance of the bigger picture.

He then cautioned Christian leaders to be very careful with their attitudes and always choose to be loyal to God.

“Blood makes people related but loyalty makes people a family,” he concluded.

The gathering was graced by the clergy in the Area and their wives.
