Agormanya Ministers And Wives Visit Akosombo District

The Agormanya Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle James Gabriel Quardson, and the entire pastorate in the area, paid a day’s visit to the Akosombo District on June 15, 2018. The visit coincided with the inauguration of the Akosombo Pentecost Preparatory School’s fully-furnished ICT Laboratory and their newly-purchased school bus.

The inauguration, which was a brainchild of the School’s Board, was organized under the auspices of the District Minister, Pastor Wilson Ntiamoah. The visit was held under the theme ‘Move into the districts’. An initiative by the Area Head which involves all ministers and their wives, visiting the various Districts to pray with them.

Addressing the gathering, Pastor Anthony Mensah of the Akuse District charged the members to be well acquainted with the word of God and pray in accordance to its will.

Speaking on the topic: “Praying the Prayer of Solomon” with Bible references from Exodus 23:22-26, 1Kings 3:5-15 and Isaiah 54:7, Pastor Anthony Mensah indicated that Solomon’s ability to offer his heartfelt petition to God in prudence, kept God spellbound in his affairs throughout his reign.

He advised Christians to be humble and specific in their prayers for God hears every humble and heartfelt petition.

“Our Lord Jesus always prayed with passion, because He knew who it was He was talking to and He knew that prayer to the Father is a powerful thing and not something to take lightly and glibly,” he asserted.

Pastor Mensah observed that prayer is a habit since it is learnt through practice. He, therefore, advised the members to form positive habits such as praying in a humble manner because negative habits are difficult to do away with once they are formed.

He also advised Christians who pray against their enemies to desist from such attitudes and concentrate on the basic message prayer method. “As Christians, we are mandated to love, bless and pray for our enemies. If God were to be answering vindictive prayers we would have been the first people to be wiped out because we were once against Him. Let us learn to love and pray for all because God is love,” he pointed out.

Pastor Mensah encouraged members to carry their fair share of the responsibility to support the work of the Church and make God’s work their priority. “When we make giving to God’s work a priority, God has promised that He will bless us financially. Let us give to God’s work and He will honour His promise,” he said.

Concluding his message, Pastor Mensah, who is also an Executive Member of the Agormanya Area, admonished members to yearn for the word of God and pray according to the Word of God because God hears His word.

Present at the service was the Headmistress of Akosombo Pentecost Preparatory School, Mrs Cecilia Soyoh, and some Board Members of the School.
