Evangelism Director Unveils New Book

“Proclamations That Make You An Overcomer”, a book authored by the Evangelism Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Amos Jimmy Markin, was launched today (March 7, 2018) at a brief ceremony at the premises of Pent TV at La in Accra.

The event was attended by Apostle Professor Peter Ohene Kyei (Winneba Area Head), Apostle Emmanuel Offei Ankra Badu (PEMEM Director), Apostle David Nyansah Hayfron (Youth Director), Apostle CSP James Tetteh (Chaplain General, Ghana Prisons Service)

Also in attendance were Pastor Ohene Asa-Otu (Deputy Evangelism Director), Pastor Isaac Annor (Publications Officer), and Mrs Gina Asante (Content Manager, Pent TV), among others.

Reviewing the book, Apostle Prof. Ohene Kyei, described the book as a powerful and timely one, as it brings to the fore the importance and benefits of boldly proclaiming the word of God as believers.

“In this book, Apostle Amos Jimmy Markin, who loves the Lord Jesus Christ and has committed his life to the service of the Lord since his youthful days, gives us a call to action. He recognizes that words are very important and each word one speaks has tremendous significance and consequences on his or her life. God created this world by the power of His word and sustains His creation by His word which is reliable and cannot be broken, “he said.

He noted that the power in the word of God is not only limited to the written form but the spoken word is equally powerful, saying that “We are instructed as believers to speak His word, for it is a great weapon and strength to every believer.”

He mentioned Jesus Christ, David and Caleb and Joshua as examples of people who proclaimed the word of God to victory and urged believers to imitate them.

He said that in Numbers 13:30-33, Caleb and Joshua proclaimed that, “Let us go up and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it…” and indeed they were able to possess the Promised Land.

Again in 1 Samuel 17:45-47, David boldly proclaimed to Goliath the Philistine,” You come to me with sword and a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of host, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands and I will strike you and take your head from you…” and it came to pass just as he proclaimed.

He, therefore, urged Christians to enforce the victory won through the blood of Jesus Christ, by speaking and standing in agreement with God’s word. According to him, it is only then that they will see the manifestation of Christ’s victory in their lives.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah said that “Proclamations That Make You An Overcomer” is a must-read for every Christian since it possesses the secret of daily victorious living in Christ.

Delivering his closing remarks at the ceremony, Apostle Amos Jimmy Markin said that he was motivated to write the book because he observed that quite a significant number of Christians he encountered do not exercise the authority in the word of God especially during difficult times.

“We must all start from where God began – from nothing. However, out of nothing he proclaimed the world into being, and as believers who are children of God, we must also proclaim into being what we need,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to all who graced the event and encouraged all and sundry, particularly Christians to grab copies of the book.

“Proclamations That Make You An Overcomer” is a 119-page book that implores believers to be victory-minded Christians by proclaiming the word of God with faith as charged by Jesus Christ in Matthew 21:21.

Copies of “Proclamations That Make You An Overcomer” are available for sale at the Evangelism Directorate of the Church’s Headquarters at La in Accra.
