Ngorlekpoe Assembly Inaugurated

The Battor District in the Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost has inaugurated a new assembly at Ngorlekpoe.

The Ngorlekpoe Assembly, which was officially opened on Sunday, February 18, 2018, was established as a result of a 3-day evangelistic rally organised by the Battor District from February 15 to 17, 2018 in the Ngorlekpoe community. The event, which was spearheaded by the District Evangelism Ministry, was under the theme: “As It Was in the Days of Noah” (Luke 17: 26-29).

Opening the rally on Thursday evening, the District Minister, Pastor Korblah Narh emphasized the need for the residents to submit to the lordship of Jesus Christ.

He stated that during Noah’s era, God gave mankind a 120-year grace period for them to repent while Noah built the ark, however they did not turn from their wicked ways. As a result, only Noah and his family were saved while the others perished in the flood. In the same way, when the people of Sodom and Gomorrah rejected God’s warning they were destroyed by fire.

Pastor Narh, therefore, appealed to members of the community to give their lives to Christ in order to escape eternal destruction.

The following day, in the course of a house-to-house evangelism exercise, a woman was miraculously healed of a severe stomach ache. Her stomach problem was so intense that she could neither eat, drink nor walk well. However, after prayers were said for her she began to do all the things she could not do before to the glory of God.

The evangelistic rally yielded 10 souls; 4 backsliders were won back, and 6 converts were baptized in water.
The Sunday service marked the opening of the new assembly amidst drumming, dancing and singing of praises to God.
The Battor District currently has 27 assemblies.

The inhabitants of Ngorlekpoe are predominantly idol worshippers with a few of them being Catholics. The Catholic Church was the only church in the village prior to the opening of the assembly.
