The Nkwanta Area Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has organised a day’s special thanksgiving service dubbed, ‘Aseda Kronkron’ to appreciate God for His grace in seeing them through 2017.

The event which took place on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the district level, was spearheaded by the wife of the Area Head, Mrs. Irene Abena Asare, in collaboration with the leadership of the Area Women’s Ministry, led by Deaconess Rebecca Bilinlah.

According to Mrs. Irene Asare, the idea is to inculcate thanksgiving into the lives of the members and to teach them to appreciate the good and bad of life, and to understand that God works for the good of His own.

“This ‘Aseda Kronkron’ programme is for us to express to God our joy and gratitude at His faithfulness in watching over us during the past year and helping us to successfully commence the new year,” she added.

Marking the day at Brewaniase District, the wife of the District Minister, Mrs. Alice Gyamfi, led women in the district to the Ntruboman Senior High School and the palace of the Paramount Chief of the Ntruboman Traditional Area, Nana Tidibo Kowurah Odamba II, to pray with them and donate some items to them.

At Ntruboman SHS, the Women’s Ministry presented 40 bags of sachet water and half piece of Ghana@60 anniversary cloth to the school.

The elated Headmistress, Madam Peace Abasa Addo, thanked the women for the gesture. She promised to reciprocate the gesture by visiting the Church. She used the occasion to call on parents to regularly visit their wards in school to know how they are faring.

The headmistress further advised parents to endeavour to provide the needs of their wards to prevent the children from going wayward.

At the chief palace, Mrs. Gyamfi led the women to go on their knees to pray in different dialects for the peace and development of the community. The Ministry presented 10 bags of sachet water and four pieces of Ghana@60 anniversary cloth to the chief and his elders.

The Paramount Chief admonished the residents to desist from organising expensive funerals, but rather plan towards taking good care of their children.

In an interview, Mrs. Alice Gyamfi said the visit to the school was aimed at creating a good rapport with the school authorities and to stress the need for parents to pay frequent visits to their wards in school to be abreast with their academic progress.
