Pastor Asamoah & Family Retire From Active Service After 25 Years

It was all joy and thanksgiving at Sefwi Asawinso Central Assembly of Sefwi Asawinso District in the Sefwi Wiawso Area of The Church of Pentecost when Pastor William Wilson Asamoah and his family were gloriously retired from active ministry on Sunday, July 29, 2018, after 25 years of meritorious service to God and the Church.

The service, which recorded an attendance of over 1800 members and 35 ministers and their wives, was officiated by the Sefwi Wiawso Area Head, Apostle John Obeng Kesse. He was assisted by the Essam Debiso Area Head, Apostle Derek Mireku.

Speaking on the theme: “Serving God Wholeheartedly” (Joshua 14:13-14), Apostle John Obeng Kesse stated that Caleb served the Lord faithfully and wholeheartedly throughout Israel’s journey from Egypt to Canaan. As a result, God was faithful to him and rewarded him the land of Hebron as his inheritance.

Apostle Obeng Kesse, therefore, admonished believers to serve the Lord with a heart of integrity. He also advised them to take God by His word and count on His grace. “God does not fail; He cannot lie. His faithfulness is sure,” he said.

“The Lord assuredly rewards all those who serve Him with all their heart and seek their best end as He has done for Pastor William Wilson Asamoah and family,” he added.

Pastor W.W. Asamoah, as he is affectionately known, was called into ministry at Nkawkaw-Kwahu in 1993 having worked for many years as a professional Teacher. He was ordained as a Pastor in 1998 and served at 6 stations namely, Chinderi District (Kete Krachi Area) from 1993 to 1995, Kasoa District (then Accra West Area) from 1995 to 2001, Goaso District (Goaso Area) from 2001 to 2005, Akim Akroso District (Akim Oda Area) from 2005 to 2010, Aboso District (Tarkwa Area) from 2010 to 2014 and Asawinso District (Sefwi Wiawso Area) from 2014 to 2018.

Testimonies from the General Council, the Area Pastorate, the Asawinso District Executive and the District Women’s Ministry described Pastor Asamoah as a man of prayer, firm, fair, efficient and a passionate soul winner having won over 5,800 souls and opened 50 Assemblies throughout his 25-year ministerial service. His wife, Mrs. Rebecca Asamoah was also testified of as being very straightforward, loving, a woman of prayer, and very supportive of her husband’s ministry.

Present at the service were Mrs. Eunice Kesse wife of Apostle John Obeng Kesse, Mrs. Elizabeth Mireku wife of Apostle Derek Mireku, all ministers and wives of Sefwi Wiawso Area, Elder George Afrifa (PENTSOS Director), Elder Kwasi Afram (Deputy Finance Manager, COP Headquarters) and some traditional leaders.
