Tema Area Trains News Reporters

The Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost has trained 36 news reporters in the Area on basic techniques in news reporting.

The one day event which took place at the Community 12 Church premises on December 15, 2017, brought together news reporters selected from the various districts to equip them with basic writing skills and the use of social media in winning souls for Christ.

Opening the programme, Pastor Joseph Danzerl of Community Four District, who represented the Area Head, Apostle Matthew Larbi Wettey, advised participants to see the training as fundamental in news reporting.

Overseer Franklin Kumi Lartey of Bedeku District took participants through “News Reporting.” He exposed them to what news reporting is, sources of news, writing good reports and qualities of a good reporter.

He admonished them to see church news reporting as a ministry and put in their best.

Pastor Samuel Koomson of Big Ada District spoke on “Digital Evangelism.” He asked the participants to take advantage of the various social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp since they are big avenues through which they could reach the world with the gospel of Christ.

On his part, Pastor William Boachie Ansah of Great Ningo District, advised the participants to be serious with the opportunity afforded them, adding that once they did, they will go far.

Pastor Francis Kofi Mensah of Ada-Foah District, in giving the closing remarks, advised the reporters to eschew arrogance in the discharge of their duty. He also urged them to report on real events in their various districts and not write on fictions.

Sharing her thoughts on the programme, Sister Abigail Korkor Dzanmah of Tsopoli District, was full of praise for the Area Head and his team for organising the orientation programme. She said she had been equipped to report for her district.
