Abuakwa Area Holds Apostolisation Retreat

The Abuakwa Area of The Church of Pentecost has commenced this year’s Ministers and Officers’ Retreat (Apostolisation) under the theme, “Remain in Christ and His Basic Message” (1 John 2:24-25).

The retreat, which is currently ongoing in five zones namely; Abuakwa, Adugyama, Kunsu, Toase, and Nyinahin zonal centres, has Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh (Sefwi Bekwai Area Head) and Prophet Peter Baffour (Retd.) as guest speakers. They were both accompanied by their wives, Mrs. Martha Anane Denteh, and Mrs. Margaret Appeadu, respectively.

In his opening address, the Abukwa Area Head, Apostle Emmanuel Kwasi Osei Ofosu, was grateful to the Executive Council for the initiative and added that it was the third since the inauguration of the Area in August 2015. He also used the opportunity to welcome ministers and their wives who were participating for the first time following their transfer to Area late last year.

The Abuakwa Area Head also paid glowing tribute to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, who will be retiring from active service in August this year.

Apostle Osei Ofosu inferred that the older generations that walked and worked with the founding fathers of the Church are gradually leaving the scene for a generation that never encountered the first leaders. He stressed that there must be a conscious effort to impact the current generation and subsequent generations to ensure that the Church does not drift from the truth but continues to remain in Christ and His basic message.

He noticed with concern the need to apportion much attention to such impartation retreats.

“At such retreats, we receive an impartation from various men of God who minister to us with a variety of gifts to strengthen, equip, and mentor us for the Lord’s work. Accordingly, I humbly urge all of us to fully prepare our hearts, soul and spirit for the various ministrations by our seasoned guest speakers who have been prepared by God to be a blessing to us,” he said.

Apostle E.K. Osei Ofosu explained that, in the light of the cloud of false doctrines that abound in the contemporary world, the retreat would focus on Tenets of The Church of Pentecost.

The retreat, which commenced Tuesday, March 13, is expected to end on Sunday, March 18, 2018.
