Afram Plains Area Organises Health Walk

As part of the Area’s effort to create awareness on the importance of exercising and the promotion of healthy living, the Afram Plains Area of The Church of Pentecost on Saturday, June 9, 2018, organised a health walk for all members.

The activity which forms part of the second Area Week activities was meant to promote good health among members and also foster godly relationship. The health walk which started at 6:00 am at the various zonal centres (Donkorkrom, Tease and Maame Krobo) saw hundreds of members participating in the exercise.

The Afram Plains Area Head, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko, led the Donkorkrom zonal team comprising District Ministers, their respective wives, officers as well as church members through some of the principal streets of Donkorkrom before converging at Donkorkrom Central church auditorium to participate in health screening exercise.

Apostle Boakye Agyarko expressed his appreciation to the participants for partaking in the activity. He encouraged them to be consistent in this exercise in order to keep their bodies healthy. He added that “the Holy Spirit dwells in our bodies and for that matter; there is the need for us to keep our bodies healthy in order for Him to get a healthy habitation.”

Dr Frank Brown, a Gynaecologist at Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital, educated the patrons on “Max Food Supplements.” He encouraged them to patronise them because of their positive effects on the body. He advised those who eat late to shun this practice because it can lead to accumulation of fat in their bodies leading to diseases like Diabetes and High Blood Pressure.

After the health talk, Dr Brown and his medical team from the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital held a medical screening exercise for all screened the participants.

In his final remarks, Apostle William Boakye Agyarko was full of gratitude to Dr Frank Brown and his team for honouring the Church’s invitation to be part of the exercise as well as educating the participants on health issues.

In all, a total of 256 people took part in the health walk and screening exercise at Donkorkrom.
