The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah, has embarked on a working visit to the Tumu Area in the Upper West Region.

The Chairman arrived in Tumu on Friday, 22nd February, 2018, in the company of Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani (Tamale Area Head and Executive Council Member), Pastor Robert Andoh (Wa Area Head), Evangelist Francis Yaw Adu (Walewale Area Head), and Pastor William Ohemeng Kwakye (Sawla Area Head). Present to receive the Chairman was the Tumu Area Head, Pastor Daniel Kweku Dekpor.

A joint service was held at the Tumu Central Assembly in honour of the Chairman. It was attended by minsters and their wives, officers and jubilant members in the Area.

The Chairman climaxed his historic visit to the Area with the dedication of the Tumu Area mission house after the joint service. He rounded off his visit with an interaction with some ministers of Tumu and other Areas who attended the service.

Preaching the sermon on the topic, “Give God the Chance,” he took his reading from Revelation 3:20 and Judges 16:5. Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah gave a brief background on the text where he said Manoah, the father of Samson, was in the house while his wife was on the field working. He said when the woman came and informed him about what had happened on the field, the husband said to the wife, “When the Angel comes again come and call me,” meaning he was not even ready to go with the wife to the field.

Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah noted that it is unfair for husbands to sleep while their wives work in the field, come back home to cook for them to eat.

The Chairman therefore charged men to support their wives in all things, especially when there is so much work to be done in the home. This, he said, will reduce the pressure on women.

He noted that Sampson did not use the gift God gave him for the intended purpose. He explained that Sampson rather used the gift to destroy human life and property.

According to the Chairman, Sampson did not obey the instructions God gave to his parents concerning his life- not to drink wine and also to marry from the Philistines.

“Our conscience always judges us when we disobey God,” he stressed.

Apostle Prof. Opoku Onyinah, who is also the President of Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), pointed out that many fail to give God the chance in their life as to the best way to use their God given talents, gifts, positions or status in society, but keep on sinning to the point that they are bounded and blinded by sin which eventually leads to their destruction and death.

He called on all and sundry to give God the chance in their lives by opening the doors of their hearts to Christ Jesus. He said Jesus is always available to accept His children when they repent of their sins.

Apostle Professor Opoku Onyinah concluded that if God is given the chance in the lives of His people and they remain in Him, His glory will also be seen in their lives.
