Mr and Mrs Goka

A Child After 22 Years Of Marriage

Elder Emmanuel and Mrs Georgina Goka of Battor District in the Tema Area of The Church of Pentecost were in January 2018 blessed to have their first child after 22 years of marriage.

The couple who got married on December 5, 1995, had been through many challenges with childlessness being one of them.

Mrs Georgina Goka revealed that after their marriage she used to menstruate only once in a year. Upon seeking medical attention at Adidome, they were referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to continue the investigations but due to financial constraints, they could not go. They resorted to the use of herbal medications but to no avail, she said.

In all these, she said that pastors and elders of the Church never ceased to pray for them. When all medical check-ups, laboratory tests and herbal medications had failed, they decided to look up to the Lord only and that is where they found their answer, she added.

Speaking at the naming and dedication service for the newborn child at the Battor Central Assembly on February 17, 2018, the District Minister, Pastor Samuel Korblah Narh, encouraged the congregation to seek the face of God in all circumstances.

He motivated those looking for the fruit of the womb to tap into the grace that the Gokas had received and believed God for a miracle.

The Battor district pastor further admonished parents to take full responsibility of raising their children in a godly manner. Using the example of Zechariah and Elizabeth in Luke 1, Pastor Narh urged believers not to fail God in difficult times, because if they endured to the end, they will receive God’s promise.

The ceremony was highly patronized by members and officers of the Church within the district and neighbouring districts.
