The Evangelism Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Amos Jimmy Markin, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, paid a visit to the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC-Sakumono) in the Teshie-Nungua Area.

He used the occasion to launch the district’s 2018 outreach which is scheduled to take place at Afosu-Sikawobuom District in the Akim Oda Area of the Eastern Region.

Apostle Jimmy Markin also inaugurated the PIWC-Sakumono Prisons Ministry which is also part of the district’s evangelism drive to win more souls for Christ.

He urged the members to get involved in evangelism since that is the mission of every Christians, saying that nothing can touch the heart of criminals to give up their wicked ways except the word of God.

The Evangelism Director narrated instances where criminals and even murderers have given up their guns and surrendered to Christ after the gospel had been preached to them. He said the word of God is able to reform people who have been incarcerated for years without any change in attitude or behaviour.

“We must not underestimate what evangelism can bring to our country in terms of peace and security as well as getting souls for the Kingdom,” he stressed.

He urged the members to support the two groups with resources to enable them undertake successful evangelism activities.

The Resident Minister, Pastor Jonathan Kofie, on his part, said PIWC Sakumono is a church with a great passion for evangelism and has over the past years visited several places to reach out to the unreached with the gospel. He indicated that the district recently visited Denkyira Obuasi (now known as New Obuasi) in the Central Region for evangelism activities.

He said the outreach team usually undertakes medical screening and support the church in the communities they visit with clothing, household items and funds for church projects.

The Teshie-Nungua Area Prisons Coordinator, Deaconess Victoria Omane-Antwi, paid glowing tribute to the members for their immense support to the Prisons Ministry.

She disclosed that the local assembly in Nsawam Medium Security Prisons (male section) has about 1,200 membership who meet every Sunday to worship in a powerful atmosphere. “They need our help in terms of the provision of clothing, food, toiletries and others,” she appealed.

She hinted that the Church is working towards opening an assembly in the female side as well.

Apostle Markin prayed for the members of the two groups and asked God to empower them for the tasks ahead.

The Teshie-Nungua Area has been paying periodic visits to the Nsawam Prisons to support the facility and to preach the gospel to the inmates.

The Area has also been giving to orphanages and the needy in society.
