Excellent Character Leads To Greatness – Apostle Ackah-Baidoo Reveals

The former New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Kwesi Ackah-Baidoo (Retd), has admonished ministers and their wives in the Church to attach seriousness to building an excellent character in ministry.

Apostle Ackah-Baidoo said this when addressing the Ministers and Wives’ session of the Goaso Area Apostolisation on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Goaso.

Speaking on the topic, “Having a God Approved Ambition in the Ministry,” the retired minister stated that one cannot be great without exhibiting excellent character, adding that character plays a vital role in ministry.

According to him, it is the character that will build and sustain the ministry of pastors. “Good character is a virtue that should be pursued by every Christian, including ministers,” he stressed.

Reading from 1 Chronicle 4:9-10 and 1 Samuel 2:13b, Apostle Ackah-Baidoo (Retd) encouraged ministers to always consider how they conduct themselves in the ministry. He noted that the desire to exhibit the fruit of the Holy Spirit helps to shape the character of the believer and showcase his maturity in Christ.

He charged ministers of the gospel to make a deliberate attempt to pursue excellence in their character since that is a major key to their greatness. “In pursuance of excellence, there is the need to have a God-approved ambition. This will make the minister recognise God as the originator of everything in his life. Such a minister avoids hypocrisy, serves others than to be served and gives than he receives,” he stated.

Apostle Ackah-Baidoo (Retd) reiterated that one can become great in life through good character traits.

He disclosed that Satan approved ambition only makes a person build self-reputation and strive to amass wealth and power through foul means.  “A minister who does not strive for excellence in character is a want-oriented minister. Such a person incurs the wrath of God upon his/her life,” he remarked.

He charged Christian leaders to eschew all sorts of ungodly ambitions that will damage their reputation before God and man, saying that ungodly character will hinder them from attaining the apex and God’s purpose in their respective callings.

Among the speakers were Apostle Isaac Kwasi Amoako (Goaso Area Head) and Apostle Daniel Yeboah Nsaful (Effiduase Area Head), among others.
