God Hears When His Children Cry – Apostle Osei Asante

The New Tafo Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, has asked Christians not to hesitate to pray to God when they go through suffering because He [God] is ever attentive and responsive to them whenever they call upon Him.

According to him, God is nearer to believers than the clothes they wear and He is ever ready to come to their plight when they call upon Him. “The God we serve is so kind to the extent that He even hears and provides for animals when they cry out to Him,” he stated.

Apostle Osei Asante made this known in a sermon delivered at the New Tafo Area Monthly Prayer Meeting held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Sepe Buokrom Prayer Centre in Kumasi.

Speaking on the topic, “If the Wicked is Near, God is also Near,” based on Psalm 119:145-152; 147:9, the Area Head who is also an Executive Council Member of the Church, noted that when believers rely on God and wait patiently for His appointed time, He will surely see them through.

He indicated that the Psalmist was faced with a lot of afflictions but he was hopeful that the Lord could deliver him. “The devil may try to trouble you with all sort of afflictions and things may be looking so scary, but never get perturbed because the Lord God we serve is nearer to deliver you,” he assured.

He, however, indicated that some of the afflictions Christians sometimes go through are meant to make them humble and learn the statutes of God (Psalm 119:71). He, thus, advised believers not to quickly think otherwise when things turn out to be horrendous, but rather, they should trust God and learn His statutes.

He further admonished believers to value and obey the word of God more than anything else and trust in it. He observed that in spite of the afflictions of the Psalmist, he still trusted God and His word.

According to him, God delivers those who obey His word and trust in it. “Those with the word of God in them have the confidence and boldness to go before Him and He attends to them accordingly,” he underscored.

He added that prayer that is based on the word of God is effective.

The prayer meeting, which was the last one in 2017, was well-attended by the members, officers as well as ministers and their wives in the Area.
