Sawla Area Apostolization Retreat Underway

The Sawla Area of The Church of Pentecost opened this year’s Ministers and Officers’ Retreat (Apostolization) on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Sawla District Central.

The Area Head, Pastor William Ohemeng-Kwakye, officially opened the programme with a brief sermonette on the topic “Honour God Before The Congregation” based on Numbers 20:8-13, Psalm 106:32-33, and 1Corinthians 10:31, among others.

He stressed that as ministers of the Gospel, God must be honoured in their acts and deeds both in private and public. “God expects His children honour Him at all times,” he said.

According to him, Moses failed to honour God when he was under pressure and could therefore not control his anger when dealing with the Israelites.

He further stressed that Christian leaders must not be careless in their speech because it dishonours God.

“God takes leadership with all seriousness. Hence, leadership positions must not be joked with and be treated anyhow, especially in Christian circles, “he said.

Pastor Ohemeng-Kwakye emphasized that Christian leaders should be very spiritually sensitive and conscious at all times.

He cautioned that Moses, who was called by God to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land, forfeited his reward after all his suffering because he failed to honour God, rather God appointed Joshua to lead the Israelite to the Promised Land.

Pastor Ohemeng-Kwakye advised church leaders to learn to restrain their anger before the congregation, adhere to the voice of God, focus on their calling and ignore the pressure that may arise in the day-to-day activities.

The Sawla Area Apostolisation Retreat has Prophet Foster K. Aniakwaa (Mampong Area Head) and Apostle Philip Osei-Korsah (Head of Counseling Unit, COP Headquarters) as the main speakers.

The morning sessions of the 2018 Sawla Area Apostolisation Retreat has been reserved Ministers and Wives’ only whiles the evening sessions are organised for ministers, wives and officers in the area.

The event is expected to end on Friday, March 18, 2018.
