Senchem District Launches 10th Anniversary Celebration

The Wassa Senchem District in Assin Foso Area of The Church of Pentecost has launched the 10th Anniversary celebration of the creation of the district.

The launch was held at the central assembly on Sunday, April 29, 2018, on the theme: “Building and Serving According to the Pattern of the Fathers” (1 Corinthians 3:10). It coincided with the climax of the district revival programme dubbed “Let The Fire Fall.”

The district, which was carved out of Wassa Ateiku District, was officially inaugurated on Sunday, October 12, 2008, with Pastor Daniel Wiafe as the pioneer minister.

Speaking at the event, the District Minister, Pastor Lord Nkrumah, outlined some of the activities earmarked for the anniversary. This include retirement service for retired officers in June, interaction with the founding elders dubbed “Time With The Fathers” in June, mini crusades in July, anniversary games in August, interaction with the former ministers dubbed “Time With The Fathers” in September, District Homecoming in October and an excursion in November. There will be praise and worship dubbed “Senchem Stands in Worship” to climax the celebration in December.

Preaching the sermon on the topic, “When The Fire Falls” taken from 1 Kings 18:38-39, Pastor Mathew Mpaba of Twifo Nyenasi District, stated: “In the Old Testament, the fire came on the altar in the temple, but now the altar has moved into the hearts of humanity. When the fire comes, believers receive power for service and also bow to God. The bowing to God implies worshipping and serving Him.”

He asked believers to serve God better than what the people of old did because they have the fire residing in them.
Present at the launch were the Paramount Chief of Mamponso Traditional Area, Nana Kwamenah Damoah III, and the Queen Mother of Wassa Anyinabrem, Nana Araba Saara, among others.
