Wulensi District, PENSA UDS-Tamale Embark On Aggressive Evangelism

The Wulensi District of The Church of Pentecost and the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) of the University of Development Studies (UDS)–Tamale Campus, have jointly organised a 4-day aggressive evangelism dubbed “Operation 1000 Souls” in the Wulensi District.

To the glory of God, 1,004 persons (comprising 721 adults and 283 children) surrendered their lives to Christ, majority of whom were idol worshippers with two Muslims. So far, 210 of the adult converts have been baptised in water.

The outreach which was under the theme, “Jesus Christthe Saviour of the World,” (John 4:42), took place from Saturday, 5th to Tuesday, 8th May, 2018, with sponsorship from TOBINCO Pharmaceuticals Limited.

Among the activities that were undertaken during the period were Free Medical Screenings in five communities, House-to-House Evangelism in nine communities, Gospel Film Shows in five communities, a 2-day Crusade, and a Health Talk at Wulensi Senior High School.

A total of 1,770 persons were screened and given medications on the basis of their health conditions, while some 650 first and second year students of the school participated in the Health Talk. There were also free distributions of clothing to the community people, with over 4000 copies of Gospel tracts and some New Testament Bibles being distributed to them.

During the crusade held in Gbunbaliga, 75 persons received the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues, while 17 testified of receiving instant healing of diverse ailments.

The outreach team which was made up of 90 medical and nursing students, on arrival paid a courtesy call on the Paramount Chief of the area, Naa Salifu Wumbei. The traditional ruler, in his speech, expressed his delight to have them in his area and wished them well in the task ahead.

The Wulensi District Minister, Pastor Samuel Acheampong, at a brief closing ceremony to see the team off, commended them for the great service rendered and encouraged them to keep the fire burning, and to remain committed to the Church.

He further admonished them not to be ‘Signboard’ Christians who would only be directing people to the Kingdom of Heaven, but never get there themselves.
